Growing Instructions
Growing Instructions
Soil/Drainage: Plant in a well-draining soil mix rich in organic matter. Star Apple is highly sensitive to waterlogged conditions and poor drainage can lead to root rot. Best grown in a pot in New Zealand.
Wind Protection: Choose a sheltered location away from strong winds. The large, glossy leaves are easily damaged, and consistent wind exposure can slow growth and reduce fruit quality.
Temperature: As a tropical species, Star Apple does not tolerate frost. For best results, keep minimum temperatures remain above 10°C year-round. In cooler climates, trees can be grown in large containers and overwintered in greenhouses or protected spaces.
Sunlight: Prefers partial sun.
